| Boal & Co Scoops Award for ‘Innovation and Independent Thinking’
At the Isle of Man Newspapers Award for Excellence ceremony held at the Villa Marina on 17th November, Boal & Co won the award category for ‘Innovation and Independent Thinking’, which was sponsored by Coutts & Co.
Boal & Co entered this category for its role played in the creation of the island’s recently introduced pension regime to attract UK expatriate pension funds to the island. The new legislation passed by Tynwald in October 2010, is commonly referred to as ‘section 50C’. Section 50C gives local pension administrators a competitive Isle of Man pension regime to market to UK expatriates with UK pension funds.
The acceptance speech on behalf of Boal & Co was delivered by the company’s Managing Director, Gary Boal, in which he thanked the government departments involved in the project, along with Boal & Co’s team of professionals. Mr Boal went on to state that Boal & Co would attract considerable new business to the island in the 2012 calendar year, the majority of which would ultimately be invested with the local life insurance companies, meaning that that the island would feel further benefits of this inward investment.
Boal & Co would like to extend their thanks to everyone involved with the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence, which resulted in a fantastic evening of entertainment for all attendees.
